ECA launches new content series for #NAW2022

Electrotechnical and engineering services trade body ECA is set to launch a raft of content for National Apprenticeship Week 2022.

This includes insightful blogs from industry leaders and a bespoke webinar for those who employ electrical and construction apprentices, which will be broadcast live this Thursday at 3pm.

ECA will also share key information about the range of Government funding, support and incentives on offer for electrotechnical businesses that employ apprentices.

ECA’s schedule of content throughout the week will include:

An ‘expert comment’ column by Carolyn Mason, ECA Head of Education and Training, on the skills for installing electric vehicle charge points
An update on the innovative new TESP Data Dashboard, providing new facts and figures about the industry
A blog on the future of construction apprenticeships by Jill Nicholls, Head of Construction and Transport at the Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education (IfATE)
An interview on the importance of green skills and net zero in today’s industry, by Ian Rippin, CEO of MCS
On Thursday, 10 Feb at 3pm: an exclusive webinar with Jill Nicholls of IfATE and Andrew Eldred, ECA’s Director of Workforce and Public Affairs, on the construction apprenticeship route review – sign up now!
A blog on the increased importance of diversity in the electrotechnical industry, and how it can be achieved, by Ruth Devine, MD of SJD Electrical
Video interviews with current and former apprentices from across the industry, sharing their journeys to a successful electrotechnical career

Carolyn Mason, ECA Head of Education and Training, said:“National Apprenticeship Week is the perfect time to bring together electrotechnical businesses, from within and outside the ECA, with apprentices across the country.

“In such an unpredictable business environment, we want to shine a light on the positive impact that apprenticeships make to individuals and businesses in the construction sector, and the wider economy.

“Around 6,000 electrical apprentices are recruited each year – this must increase if we are to bridge the skills gap, and training must include the Net Zero skills that are vital to delivering our national Zero Carbon goals.”
