UK cities where the most workers are looking to quit their jobs
The Great Resignation phenomenon describes the influx of people leaving their jobs after the peak of the Covid-19 pandemic, and the trend is still going strong a year later.
A recent study by Funky Pigeon, which recently released a range of resignation cards, analysed the Google search data of 20 resignation related phrases, such as ‘resignation letter’, ‘template for resignation letter’, ‘writing a resignation letter’, ‘how to write a resignation letter’, in the UK’s 60 most populated cities to discover where the most people were considering leaving their current jobs.
The research found that Cambridge residents were searching the most for these terms, with 97.97 average monthly searches per 10,000 people in the city, indicating the city has the most people currently unhappy in their job.
In second place was Milton Keynes with 85.28 average monthly searches per 10,000 people and in third place was Manchester with 81.35.

However, when it came to the UK counties with the most quitters collectively, the West Midlands took the top spot with 203.88 monthly searches for resignation terms per 10,000 people.
In second place was West Yorkshire with 178.35 per 10,000 and third was the county of the top quitter city, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire with 174.82.
