An exciting opportunity has arisen within a large Healthcare organisation for a capable Estates Property and Planning Healthcare Manager.
The post will be working in the North East on an interim or substantive basis on a band 8B.
Leading in detailed medical planning, working with clinical and design teams to produce project briefs, cases of need and feasibility studies for strategic schemes.

An exciting opportunity has arisen within a large Healthcare organisation for a capable Estates Property and Planning Healthcare Manager.
The post will be working in the North East on an interim or substantive basis on a band 8B.
Leading in detailed medical planning, working with clinical and design teams to produce project briefs, cases of need and feasibility studies for strategic schemes.
Main Responsibilities:
- The post holder will have a significant input to internal and external business case provision;
- Manage and oversee the in-house AutoCAD function and the organisation’s record drawing database, including Space Utilisation software packages and record information encompassing 6 facet survey information;
- Support operational teams in statutory and mandatory compliance;
- Provide a senior professional managerial service on all Healthcare Planning and Property issues with direct responsibility for a professional and technical workforce;
- Deputise for the Head of Strategy, Planning and Capital Development;
- Provide, coordinate, develop and manage highly specific and highly complex Building and Property specialised input into multi-agency estate strategies, site development and modernisation projects;
- Manage multiple user groups and represent the organisation to external bodies;
- Manage the programmes of acquisition, disposal, lease renewals, rent reviews, service charges and other leasehold time-related matters and ensuring the supporting property database is maintained, accurate and up to date;
- Support projects from business case stage to the point of acquiring premises and aid on the project management of accommodation issues;
- Advise colleagues and clients on property management matters, linking closely with legal advisors to ensure that exposure to risks arising from its occupation of leased accommodation are minimised;
- Ensure that all property owned or occupied by the organisation is managed in order that space utilisation is maximised.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Must have significant experience at a senior level in a complex provider organisation within the NHS;
- A Master’s degree, or equivalent experience in a healthcare environment;
- A chartered membership of a recognised professional body (RICS, CIOB), or equivalent;
- Extensive NHS experience in the planning environment related to major changes in service provision and delivery of multi-million-pound capital projects;
- Significant experience of working with multiple stakeholders and operational knowledge of clinical departments;
- Detailed knowledge, experience and application of healthcare planning, programme management and systems relating thereto;
- Highly developed specialist knowledge of estate asset valuation and property management, land and property valuation and capital charges;
- A specialist knowledge of Commercial and Planning law.
