Job description
The post holder will have a leading role in Information Management and Security for CPS West Midlands.
They will work closely with the Information Asset Owner (IAO) and Area Business Manager (ABM), providing advice and guidance on a range of information management, data handling and security matters, including all aspects of security (physical, personnel and incident management) and information management (retention, information asset management, data cleansing and housekeeping).
They will have regular liaison with the specialists within the Security and Information Assurance Division (SIAD) who will be responsible for providing the post holder with up to date technical advice and guidance.
• The post holder will be responsible for ensuring Baseline Security Reviews are carried out annually and will use the information gathered to produce a Security Improvement Plan (SIPs). They will use the SIPs as the basis for recommendations to the IAO/ ABM to ensure remedial action is taken to maintain compliance with national cross-government security standards for physical, personnel and information security and incident management.
• The post holder will be the primary contact for local data breaches; they will liaise between the Area and the Operational Security Team to facilitate breach investigations, compliant with ICO statutory reporting time frames. They will conduct relevant evidence gathering and analyse this information in order to ensure appropriate mitigating actions are taken promptly to minimise impact and develop risk treatment plans.
• The post holder will engage and work collaboratively with the network of national Security & Information Managers and the central information management team. A willingness to actively engage in and contribute to team communications and support networks will be an important part of establishing this geographically dispersed team; sharing experience, findings and best practice with HQ colleagues and the national Security & Information Manager community to increase the skills and expertise of the wider team.
