Salary Range: £94,345 - £98,384 per annum (pro rata part-time)
Tenure: Permanent
Hours: 37.5 hours (pro rata part-time)
Location: Glasgow

An exciting opportunity has arisen for the role of Assistant Director (Facilities and Production) within NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde. We are looking to appoint an experienced senior manager with a proven track record of success and an inspiring vision for the future, who will lead and support in the continued development of our highly committed and high functioning teams within Soft FM services.
About Us
NHS Glasgow Greater Glasgow and Clyde is the largest health system and teaching Board in Scotland with an annual budget of circa £3.9 billion (2022/23) it employs around 40,000 staff. We provide the full range of Acute, Mental Health, Community and Primary Care services to a diverse population of 1.2 million people in six local authority areas. Regional and national services are also provided across a range of clinical specialties.

The Role
A challenging and exciting opportunity has become available to lead one of the largest Soft FM services in the United Kingdom, along with the largest standalone Sterile Services Unit in Scotland.
As Assistant Director (Facilities & Production), you will contribute to the strategic and corporate management of Soft Facilities Management (Domestic, Catering, Portering) and will be responsible for leadership and the delivery of all services across this remit.
You will have overall responsibility for ensuring that the best support services are provided across all sites and units within available human and financial resources.
The role will focus on ensuring suitable programmes for developing and implementing performance management strategies, implementation of business development and planning are consistent with the Board’s need for efficiency, effectiveness, flexibility, value for money, high staff morale and improving patient care whilst ensuring the maximum levels of safety and quality is achieved.
Supporting the delivery of the highest standard of patient care, ensuring the efficient use of resources whilst promoting a culture that is both progressive and inclusive is seen as a key priority for the role.
The successful candidate will be required to represent NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde in relation to their key corporate responsibility along with a range of Facilities Management Projects and Boards at national level and contribute in conjunction with Senior NHS and Health Facilities Scotland staff to develop pan-Scotland strategies and Policies and will work with and develop synergies with the Boards Estates Team and other disciplines within the Board.
You will deputise for the Deputy Director (FM & Corporate) as required.
We are looking for an exceptional candidate to join us who will bring the right value set and leadership competencies expected in a person centred environment.
Educated to Masters’ level or equivalent, you will have a relevant Professional qualification along with significant experience within Facilities Management within a large scale, complex, multi-site environment.
This role demands an individual who will have the resilience to operate in the public sector, including NHS Boards and Health and Social Care Partnerships facing challenging times requiring improved performance, innovation and significant change.
Essential to the role is a track record of service delivery in a senior management position within a complex environment, preferably within the NHS or a similarly complex organisation in addition to significant experience of managing a range of multi-discipline NHS staffing groups.
