Build Recruitment are delighted to be working with a National Facilities Management Service Provider to make the key appointment of Head of Capital Projects. South East (National) - Salary: £95k - £100k + car allowance, bonus and other benefits.
Based in the south east of England, this role has a national remit with occasional fully expensed overnight stays.
Reporting to the Projects Director, the Head of Capital Projects will be responsible for managing a small team of Project Managers, delivering small to medium sized refit, alterations, and refurbishment projects across a national retail account.
Typical project values are £1m - £2m, with each Project Manager responsible for roughly 5 projects at any one time. There is a client-bespoke short-form contract for most works, but JCT is an option for the client.
The Head of Capital Projects will ensure projects are delivered on time and within the financial requirements and margins as specified by the business, as well as ensuring that all projects adhere and are managed to commercial agreements / contracts. Projects must comply with statutory regulations, are QHSE compliant and meet technical industry standards.
About you:
It is expected that applicants will have:
- A track record of project success in either a Head of Projects or Programme Manager capacity.
- Experience of delivering projects to the retail sector (refit, alterations, and refurbishment).
- Experience of delivering multiple projects across a large geographical area.
- Experience of statutory compliance, to include all aspects of H&S and CDM Legislation.
- Excellent high-level stakeholder management experience.

- A very competitive salary of up to £100,000 per annum.
- Car allowance circa £6,000 per annum.
- Up to 25% (of salary) bonus (based on personal performance).
