Role: Mechanical Manager
Location: Edinburgh
Salary: £57k - 37.5hr week
• 5% bonus dependent upon performance
• Life cover at 2 x Salary

• 25 days annual leave + bank holidays
• On call £140pm
300North are currently Recruiting for a Mechanical Manager for a leading facilities management business for a static site in Edinburgh.
The Mechanical manager will be working alongside dedicated supervisors, engineers and service partners to ensure the safe and continued operation of plant and related equipment within a Healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities and required duties:
• Overall responsibility for all Pre Planned Maintenance Tasks ensuring they are completed timeously to the
relevant Service Level Agreements, Key Performance Indicators and the relevant Standards appropriate to
the assets.
• Overall responsibility for all ongoing Reactive and associated works ensuring they are completed timeously
to the Relevant Service Level Agreements, Key Performance Indicators and the relevant Standards
appropriate to the assets.
• Overall responsibility for the Health and Safety of the Supervisors, Engineering Team and Service Partners
Including delivery of Toolbox Talks and any relevant updates.
Overall responsibility for any HR matters arising within the immediate team
• First point of contact for any escalations
• Establishing and maintaining effective business relationships with all key stakeholders.
• Compliance with all statutory requirements in relation to safe working practices and safe operation of plant,
equipment and services and all activities essential to meet all relevant (Scottish) Health Technical
Memoranda (S)HTM) 04-01 and Quality Assurance requirements, PSSR.
Skills, Attributes, Qualifications:
• City & Guilds Certificate in Legionella (including Risk Assessment of Water Systems).
• BOHS (P900, P901, P903 and P904) or equivalent.
• Previous experience in the management of water hygiene and application of L8, HSG274 and HTM04-
01.
• A minimum of 5 years experience of completing legionella risk assessments/legionella management
audits.
• Previous experience sampling and monitoring of hot and cold-water systems to BS8554.
• Experience of electronic water management logbooks and record systems.
• Experience of producing high-quality reports and correspondence and giving clear oral
reports/presentations.
• A technical background within an electrical, mechanical or building services bias, preferably having had
significant exposure to a Healthcare environment
• A relevant formal qualification in mechanical engineering and/or building services engineering or
relevant trade qualification.
• Mechanical AP status with Gas Manager experience IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH General
Certificate.
• Good organisational skills and ability to work to competing deadlines.
• relevant Health & Safety Qualification, i.e. IOSH Managing Safely, NEBOSH General Certificate, CDM,
SMSTS.
• Demonstrates technical leadership.
• Must have (or be able to obtain) Disclosure Scotland clearance.
