The Role: Technical and Building Manager
Location: Aylesbury
Sector: Theatres
Salary: up to £45,000pa
I am working with an international entertainment group who have serious weight behind them and an exemplary portfolio of Theatres. We are looking for a strong and innovative Technical and Building Manager to join a busy and dynamic team in Aylesbury. The role has 3 key elements that need to be satisfied:
People Management – the role is part of the senior leadership team and the successful candidate will need to motivate, direct and develop and team.
Technical – You will need to demonstrate exception technical knowledge across either lighting, sound, stage management or technical production.
Buildings Management – Ideally with IOSH certification, a deep understanding of PPM scheduling, building management systems, compliance and contractor management.
This post is part of the Senior Management Team and reports to the Theatre Director. As Technical and Buildings Manager you will play a key role in ensuring standards of presentation, both on stage and in the rest of the building, are exemplary. You will provide leadership to the technical, maintenance, stage door and backstage operations teams. Ensuring a cohesive, efficient, cost- effective and robust technical and property structure is in place that supports the future of the group.
You will need to be a flexible team player as it will involve some evening and weekend work as well as get-ins and get-outs as appropriate. There will be a need to lead from the front and you will need to be willing to be hands on too.
