Head of Facilities
Permanent contract
37 hours per week
Salary: £45,441 - £48,474
Location: All sites across Brighton & Hove Museums portfolio (including the collections store in Peacehaven)

This is an exciting and unique opportunity for a dynamic and self-motivated individual to lead the work of our facilities and building conservation team at Brighton & Hove Museums. With a positive attitude and ability to lead, manage and motivate your team, we are looking for someone who is well organised and practical. You will be accountable for all aspects of facilities management across our sites delivering planned and reactive maintenance within a heritage environment.

The postholder will make sure we are safe and compliant with relevant Health & Safety, environmental, Fire & Security standards, procedures and legislation. You will also have experience in project management and delivery of M&E and services projects. Ideally you will have a relevant professional qualification as well as practical experience of Health & Safety and risk management.

We are looking for someone who has experience of working alongside the public and completing repairs in a busy environment, while ensuring that our sites are maintained to the highest standards. It would be beneficial to have experience of this within a heritage/visitor attraction setting.

The post holder will need to have experience of managing budgets and prioritising a busy workload. Experience of procurement and management of contractors is essential. This role is full of variety, and you will work collaboratively with other teams across our museum service, as well as with consultants, contractors and other stakeholders.

Please note that this role does not meet the requirement for the UK Visa and Immigration (UKVI) Points based Immigration System. Successful candidates will need to evidence that they have the right to work in the UK.
