As a Data Centre Shift Leader / Shift Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the uptime, availability, and reliability of our data center operations. You will oversee maintenance activities within the data center environment, ensuring they not only meet but exceed defined SLAs and adhere to company policies and procedures.

Job Description:
As a Data Centre Shift Leader / Shift Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the uptime, availability, and reliability of our data center operations. You will oversee maintenance activities within the data center environment, ensuring they not only meet but exceed defined SLAs and adhere to company policies and procedures.
Main Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain electrical, mechanical, and HVAC equipment and systems under a rigorous change management system to achieve 100% uptime availability.
- Monitor and troubleshoot all site/plant equipment support systems, handling incidents, problems, changes, monitoring, escalation, notification, and resolution.
- Manage mechanical and electrical plant and systems, including HVAC systems, generators, UPS, fire alarms, suppression systems, low and high voltage switching, water systems, and associated equipment.
- Utilize the capabilities of operational systems, including BMS, PMS, and CMS.
- Coordinate sub-contracted resources as needed to deliver safe and quality service.
- Manage and coordinate all planned preventative maintenance (PPM) scheduled activities.
- Engineering Apprenticeship or equivalent.
- X forces Engineering Qualification and experience.
- High-Pressure Precision Engineering experience.
- HND in electrical or mechanical engineering or equivalent (desirable).
- Background in a Critical Environment / Data Centre (desirable).
- Professional electrical or mechanical certification (National Craft Certificate, Registered Electrical/Mechanical Contractor, or equivalent).
- Experience in troubleshooting/repair of low & medium voltage electrical systems.
- Experience in troubleshooting/repair of mechanical/HVAC systems.
- Knowledge and ability to apply safe electrical practices according to guidelines/regulations.
- Aptitude for troubleshooting and problem-solving complex issues through Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
- Detailed understanding of Change Management processes and procedures.
- Ability to follow procedures, system documentation, and track issues through appropriate entries into a Service Desk Ticketing system.
- Demonstrated good judgment and instincts in decision-making.
- Capable of actively engaging and working collaboratively with other support teams to resolve problems.
