Our customer are one of the largest property and real estate organisations globally, have a requirement for Electrically-biased M&E Shift Leaders for a brand-new data centre site, based in Slough, Berkshire. Working on a 24/7 "continental" shift pattern, comprising 12 hour days and night shifts, the engineering teams provide planned and reactive maintenance to electrical, mechanical and critical services plant and maintaining 100% uptime. This firms client provides colocation space for multi-national partners, with this UK site being an addition to their roster of data centres across Europe and globally. Guideline salary for this position is between £60-65,000 basic salary, with standard benefits and guaranteed Overtime available in the form of shift cover for opposite rota.
Candidates must be fully qualified in electrical engineering, ideally through a full apprenticeship, and with a minimum of five years experience within critical environments such as data centres, financial services, pharmaceutical, healthcare etc. With this being a shift leader role there is also an expectation of 3 years in a similar shift leader or supervisor position, and being able to demonstrate man management and motivation of an engineering team. Along with core electrical qualifications, additional training such as 18th edition, HV / LV Authorisation, F-Gas, etc will all be beneficial and particular working/systems knowledge will extend to:
Electrical & Mechanical Fault-Finding, Single & Three Phase Power, Emergency Lighting, Fire Alarms, BMS Operation, Air Handling & Fan Coil Units, Diesel Generators (On/Off Load Tests, etc), HV & LV Distribution (Switching, Writing Schedules, Permits), UPS Systems (Static & Rotary), VESDA, Fire Alarms, VAV/VRFs, 1st line Chiller Faults, CRAC & Down Flow Units, Pumps, Motors, Water Treatment, etc.
