The Head of Facilities at the Royal College of Psychiatrists offers a unique and exciting opportunity to blend strategic leadership and operational facilities management. The role will be responsible for overseeing our London headquarters and UK offices, ensuring our sites remain safe, efficient, and aligned with the College’s goals. The main accountabilities will also include driving the development of 21 Prescot Street as an external events venue and leading our sustainability programme.
Whether you’re an experienced Facilities Manager ready to step up or a seasoned Head of Facilities, this role offers the opportunity to shape and develop our facilities team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the Facilities team, fostering high performance and continuous improvement.
- Oversee facilities operations, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and outstanding service delivery.
- Drive strategic initiatives, including sustainability programmes and events management.
- Manage budgets effectively, optimising resources and cost efficiency.
- Act as a role model for excellence, customer focus, and College values.
The Team & Department
The Facilities team has undergone significant transformation, recently integrating the Prescot Street events portfolio. With a renewed focus on performance and continuous improvement, we are building a strong, collaborative leadership team across Finance & Operations. You will play a key role in shaping its future and developing its people.

- Strong background in facilities management, balancing strategic oversight with hands-on leadership.
