We are recruiting for a Senior Clerk of Works on behalf of a leading Asset Management Company on a healthcare contract in Coventry. This role oversees lifecycle, maintenance, and ad hoc hospital projects, ensuring compliance with health, safety, quality, and financial standards. You will work closely with contractors, engineers, and hospital staff to deliver projects safely, efficiently, and to specification, with responsibility for financial oversight and contract management.
Key Duties:
- Oversee lifecycle and maintenance projects, ensuring timely planning, implementation, and completion.
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with building regulations, health and safety standards, and hospital quality requirements.
- Authorise financial aspects of projects, including cost estimates, invoices, and budget management.
- Maintain accurate contract documentation and records (e.g., drawings, commissioning data, Room Data Sheets).
- Collaborate with contractors, engineers, project managers, and hospital staff to align projects with hospital operations.
- Manage contracts, approve change requests, and negotiate with suppliers and contractors to ensure value for money.
- Document project progress and financials, providing regular reports to senior management.
- Advise on and participate in preventive and corrective maintenance scheduling.
- Mentor junior staff and support their professional development.
Candidate Criteria
- HNC or equivalent in Construction, Engineering, or related field.
- Proven FM and maintenance experience delivering healthcare contracts, including lifecycle and minor works projects..
- Strong financial, budget, and contract management experience.
- In-depth knowledge of building regulations, compliance, and health & safety.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders effectively.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
