An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Shift Engineer to join the Engineering Team at a five-star deluxe residential property. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, and working within company policies, procedures, and the Engineering standards manual, the Shift Engineer will be responsible for maintaining and operating all plant, machinery, fixtures, fittings, and building fabrics. The goal is to ensure optimal resident comfort and operational efficiency while minimizing costs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Compliance Monitoring: Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements for the building, keeping certificates up to date and filed within the designated Building Logbooks.
  • Operational Efficiency: Take responsibility for the effective defect repair and safe, efficient operation of building plant and equipment.
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service to residents and colleagues, ensuring a high standard of service.
  • Task Management: Use Building Link to efficiently manage reactive help desk requests and provide timely feedback on activities.
  • CAFM System Utilization: Utilize the CAFM system to receive task sheets and work requests, completing tasks efficiently and in accordance with agreed specifications and service level agreements.
  • Feedback & Improvements: Provide feedback to the TSM on software platforms, suggesting improvements for health & safety, plant and equipment status, maintenance tasks, and energy efficiency initiatives.
  • System Operation & Maintenance: Maintain and operate building systems, including boilers, pumps, chillers, air handling units, fans, electrical distribution, pipework, ductwork, and garage plant, in line with established guidelines.
  • BMS Monitoring: Monitor the Building Management System (BMS) for alarms, incorrect operations, time scheduling, set points, etc., and respond as needed.
  • Emergency Response: Carry required communication equipment, promptly respond to calls, and report back with the status of repairs.
  • Fire Alarm Procedures: Follow designated procedures in the event of a fire alarm, ensuring the sprinkler system and Emergency Generator are operational and isolating systems as directed by the duty manager or the London Fire Brigade.
Ideal Candidate:
  • Experience: 5+ years as an Engineer, with relevant electrical or mechanical qualifications.
  • Desirable Experience: Previous experience in a 5 ultra-luxury environment*.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong focus on detail and quality.
  • Skills: Ability to maintain and repair a wide range of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
