ABOUT THIS ROLE

As a key member of the Trafalgar Theatres’ Central Operations’ Team, the role of Group Asset & Property Manager, working directly with the Group Facilities Manager, is vital to the success of our business.  The postholder plays a pivotal role in defining our property and asset management strategy aligned to our values and business growth objectives.  The Property & Asset Manager will ensure that our buildings and facilities are resilient, compliant, and well maintained to support all venue activity and operations.

You will be based from our London (or Woking) office, plus travel to regional venues. There will be an initial priority focus on the Churchill Theatre Bromley (50% of time allocated).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead on the Venue Asset Management Strategy
  • Implement group wide venue Asset Management Plan framework to be delivered in partnership with the Group Facilities Manager and the local venue maintenance teams.
  • Have oversight of group tenant repairing responsibilities in the context of our leases and management contracts
  • Support the growth and professional development of the group Facilities’ Manager.
  • Provide leadership and direction to support the group’s environmental and sustainability policy and strategies, from an asset management perspective, to drive carbon impact and energy reduction initiatives.
  • Provide planning, procurement, and delivery of capital and minor works projects across the group of venues including the management of CDM / JCT type contracts to renew major plant and systems.
  • Lead and be a ‘super-user’ for the group’s Computer Aided Facilities Management systems’ requirement in relation to compliance, renewals, planned preventative maintenance and asset register documentation.
  • Create and maintain collaborative and supportive working relationships with the venues and our key external stakeholders and partners.
  • Operate dynamically and creatively within group business planning and financial budgetary / capital funding frameworks.
  • Assist with due diligence requirements of new business acquisition and venue mobilisation.
  • Contribute to Facilities Management procurement strategies and benchmarking.

ABOUT YOU

The postholder will be surveyor qualified to MRICS (Member of Royal Institute of Chartered Institute), or to at least RICS level, to provide the group with direct professional support and strategic guidance to lead the group asset management function. 

A facilities management professional with significant experience in the theatre, music, or live-entertainment space, you’ll be a self-motivated, engaging, and dynamic leader. 

Ideally also IOSH / NEBOSH qualified and with keen financial, written, and verbal communication skills pursuant to a senior multi-site post.  

Commercially savvy, enthusiastic, and capable of influencing others (including senior members of the TE team and third-party producer clients) you’ll be energetic, proactive, results-focussed and creative in your approach. 

You’ll be resilient, able to communicate clearly and excellent at forming working relationships with others.

PERFORMANCE MEASURES

  • Delivery of projects within agreed time and budgetary parameters
  • Delivery of venue Asset Management Plans through the local teams within each venue’s agreed budgets
  • Successful integration of local venue maintenance requirements into group financial review and budget setting procedures.
  • Through the venue director support the skills development and retention requirements of the local general maintenance function.
  • Ensure full compliance with regulatory and best practice requirements relevant to the sector and theatre operations including the accurate recording, reporting, and monitoring systems.
