Words from the Client regarding the role as a Handyperson-
We’re looking for a Handyperson to work as part of a team to effectively deliver both a preventative & reactive facilities schedule following guidelines on safety, timescales & budget.
Responsibilities as a Handyperson-
You will successfully deliver certain Planned Maintenance, Reactive Maintenance, Billable works and direct works for the establishment.
Reporting into the Built Estate Manager, you will be delivering low value and billable works such as redecoration, changing of locks, noticeboard installations, minor road repairs and other tasks.
You will be provided with a range of training including NVQ 2 in Building Maintenance, IPAF, PASMA, PAT and Legionella Responsible Person training.
This role will see you undertake general maintenance across the site, including but not limited to basic plumbing, carpentry, patio laying, and minor road maintenance.
These tasks must be completed within agreed timescales and to a high standard.
You will build positive working relationships with Building Custodians, ensure all job paperwork is completed and submitted and report any maintenance needs as and when they arise.
It is important that jobs are undertaken and completed in line with all health and safety regulations.
You will at times perform escort duties where you will meet site visitors at the gate, make sure they sign in and show their photo ID, bring them to the buildings they need to get to and escort them out again.
You will use smart phones, tablets and laptops as part of your role to receive maintenance jobs and update on their progress and be part of the on-call rota if required
What you’ll need to do the role of a Handyperson-
First and foremost, you should have experience of working in a general maintenance role, with a knowledge and ability to perform basic plumbing, carpentry, joinery, grounds maintenance or similar trade tasks.
Ideally you will come from a housing, hospitality or FM background, and be used to working to tight timescales and to a high standard.
You must be able to pass BPSS Clearance and have a full UK driving licence to be considered for this role.
